KARACHI: Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has threatened to stop supplying fuel to public and private power companies which fail to clear their dues by the end of the month, a company official said on Tuesday. “PSO has sent ultimatums to Water and Power Development Authority, Hub Power Company and Kot Addu Power Company,” the official said requesting anonymity. “We are supplying 28,000 barrels of oil to these companies daily, but they have not paid a penny in July.” WAPDA, HUBCO and KAPCO owe Rs.45 billion, Rs.55 billion and Rs.28billion to PSO respectively

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday called upon all Chief Ministers to focus on effective utilization of available energy resources. The Prime Minister was talking to the Chief Ministers of Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa at the Prime Minister’’s Secretariat prior to the review meeting on the decisions of Energy Summit held in April. The Prime Minister thanked the Chief Ministers for their cooperation in implementation of the measures taken for the conservation of energy.

DERA MURAD JAMALI: Fifty-six bodies of the people have been found who were swept away in flash floods in Barkhan, Sibi, Nalli and Bakhtiar areas of Dera Murad Jamali in Balochistan.
Around two dozend villages have been submerged floodwater in Manjo Shori region in Dera Murad Jamali. Several cattles have been drowned and paddy crops standing at hundreds of acres submerged under the water.
Scores of mud huts have been collapsed and the people living without shelter.
The repair work of the railway track hit by the flash floods yet to complete and Quetta’s rail link with other parts of the country has been disrupted for the third day.

The Lake Delhi Dam has endangered the lives of many people as the walls of this dam had broken and the water from the other side flooded the whole area. The disaster has cleared the whole area which included the hou ses, trees and roads. Due to the heavy rainfall that had occurred that water level inside the Lake Delhi Dam had raised and unfortunately the dam broke due to its weight.
